Sea AnglingThe Nimrod can be hired for Sea Angling from early May to October. There are 8 rods available for hire, please ask when booking. The most commonly caught fish are Haddock, Mackerel, Dab, Ling and Cod. Sea Angling is weather dependent and wreck fishing requires a full day (approx 8am to 4pm) although shorter trips in the Bay are also available. Diving The water in this area is excellent for diving , with clear visibility to 15m. Diving trips are available all year round, air can be provided on request, please ask when booking. Channel 4 programme Time Team used the Nimrod in their archeaological expedition to discover a 16th Century Spanish Galleon and is our most popular dive site. Bird Watching Between April and July there are many different seabirds to be seen on the cliffs at Handa Island, Am Balg Island at Sandwood and also at Clo Mor, the highest cliffs in Britain. Puffins are regular visitors to the area and are always a favourite. Pleasure Trips The Nimrod is available from April till the end of September for pleasure trips, weather permitting. Take a trip to Sandwood Bay and around Cape Wrath, past the lighthouse and the spectacular Clo Mor Cliffs. In the summer it is possible to spot, Whales, Dolphins and Porpoises. Seals can be seen all year round on the rocks at low tide.
